Sostenibilità Italcompo: sede del tacchificio a Casorezzo con impianto di pannelli solari

Our Commitment as High-Fashion Suppliers: Greener Energy and Machinery Revamping

For years, we have been working to improve energy efficiency, optimize consumption, reduce waste, and enhance our production cycle with advanced technologies.

In today’s landscape, increasingly oriented toward sustainable fashion, companies across the supply chain must take an active role in reducing the environmental impact of their processes. For Italcompo, this commitment is not a recent trend but a value deeply rooted in our history and in the way we operate.

For years, we have worked to improve energy efficiency, optimize consumption, reduce waste, and enhance our production cycle with advanced technologies. It is a continuously evolving journey that involves both our facilities and our manufacturing processes.

A Concrete Commitment: A Facility Designed to Be Sustainable

Our new Casorezzo facility was designed from the outset with eco-friendly criteria in mind.

We installed a heat pump system with underfloor heating, allowing us to eliminate the use of gas entirely, and a photovoltaic system, expanded in 2024 to reach a production capacity of 107 kW, significantly contributing to our energy needs and enabling us to feed excess electricity back into the grid.

These structural choices reflect our long-term, responsible approach to sustainability.

Machinery Revamping: Efficiency and Energy Savings

The transition toward more sustainable production inevitably requires technological innovation. To this end, Italcompo has joined a regional initiative that enabled us to significantly upgrade our machinery.

Key improvements included installing PLC controls directly on the machines, connecting production lines to the MES 4.0 system for more accurate process monitoring, integrating low-energy motors that activate only during the molding phase.

Thanks to these upgrades, we have achieved almost 50% energy savings, while also improving the quality and traceability of our production.

Looking Ahead: Less Waste, More Recycling

Our commitment to the principles of sustainable fashion doesn’t stop here. Our next goal is to further expand machinery revamping and reintroduce production waste into the manufacturing cycle following GRS (Global Recycled Standard) protocols.

Reducing waste and reintegrating recycled material is a major challenge requiring research, investment, and continuous updating, but it is also an essential step toward a more responsible production model.

Clean Energy: Photovoltaics at the Heart of Our Green Strategy

The installation of our photovoltaic system is part of a broader vision of energy self-sufficiency. Beyond immediate savings, producing renewable energy allows us to significantly reduce our overall environmental footprint.

Among future projects, we are evaluating the adoption of energy storage batteries, which would allow us to use our self-produced energy even more efficiently.

Process Monitoring and Waste Reduction

Alongside technological investments, we are working to make our production cycle increasingly efficient through ISO 9001 quality management systems, constant monitoring via the MES system, preparation for GRS certification.

Each action is designed to significantly reduce waste and optimize the entire process.

Environmental Certifications: A Journey, Not a Destination

In 2023, we obtained the ISO 14001 certification, which we recently renewed—an important recognition of the work accomplished so far.

For us, however, this is not an endpoint but a milestone within a much broader path.

Sustainability requires ongoing commitment: continuous staff training, structural upgrades, and increasingly meticulous management of environmental issues.

For Italcompo, contributing to sustainable fashion means acting responsibly every day: investing in cleaner technologies, optimizing processes, reducing waste, and developing certified projects.

It is a commitment that involves the entire company and will continue to guide our future decisions.
